It's been a while since I've drawn anthros!
It took very long to get this far with this idea. I'm not entirely satisfied with it, and might work on it even more. It seemed finished enough to upload at least. The blank skies and disappearing trees are intentional ;).

I did the pencil work shortly after my trip to Switzerland. The breathtaking views really affected me. Using reference photos proved to be completely unnecessary here. I can still see all of these views in my mind very clearly.

Scan is pretty 'meh'. The raven lady looks much better on the original, so are the 'blank' areas.

24x32 cm (bigger than standard A4)
Watercolors, white acrylic, white ink, colored and mechanical pencils.

I love every thing about this !  The color choice the use of negative space the design and the subject matter looks deeply symbolic.

i have a passion for corvids and the paths of fate.. my hubby and i are always saying that some serious strings must have been pulled for us to have come together. he's originally from ontario, i'm from boston..and our long distances apart have both kept our love strong and prepared us for the long bouts of separation that the military carries with it. i have a feeling you understand..

Love this idea, it seems like something you'd hear in a really old folk tale. The way her feather's become like hair is nice and understated too.
